No, you just need to provide your name, date of birth and address details in any of our libraries. Alternatively, you can join online.

Can I return a loan to any library?
You can return items borrowed from any Blackburn with Darwen Library, to any Blackburn with Darwen Library. Items borrowed from other library services cannot be returned to us.

Blackburn Central Library has multiple meeting rooms available for hire.
What do I do if I have lost my library card?
If you would like a new card, you can get a replacement at any Blackburn with Darwen Library, charged at £2.50 for adults and £1 for children.
However, you can use a copy of your barcode on your mobile device or your membership number to borrow items, so you don’t need a library card if you would prefer not to have one. Please speak to a member of staff for assistance.
