We are delighted to announce that the new short film Dorothy Whipple: Beyond the Pages, commissioned as part of our recent Arts Council England funded ‘Dorothy Who?’ project is now available to view via the Cotton Town website. A British Sign Language version of the film is also available.
The film is a biopic of Dorothy Whipple’s life and times, particularly focussing on her connections to Blackburn and the influence that the town and its people played on her creative process. It features interviews with Dorothy Eldergill (Dorothy’s niece), Dr Cynthia Johnston (Institute of English Studies, University of London) and Nicola Beauman (Persephone Books). You can view the film
